About

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Design at Iowa State University. This program allowed me to explore the many different possibilities in the vast world of design. Some of my favorites were Art and Architectural History, Graphic Design, Biomimetic Design, studio classes in Drawing, Painting, and Modeling, Woodworking, Metalworking, and Design Thinking.

After obtaining my B.A., I spent several years in the Telecommunications industry working as an OSP and Network Engineer, and most recently as a Telecom Inspector. My range of responsibilities included managing and overseeing specific wire centers around the Des Moines metro area while creating designs for fiber and copper networks. I also spent time supervising construction crews onsite and meeting with other utility companies to discuss coordination of city plans.

When I started to explore UX Design, I knew it was the industry I'm meant to work in. Many of the things I’m interested in like Design, Gaming, Sports, and Fitness have apps and websites that I use daily. So, I completed an online course through Google’s career portal Coursera and earned a professional certificate in UX Design. This taught me so much about the design process of Empathize, Design, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. I'm excited to grow more within the industry and further my understanding of inclusivity and how to design for all user needs.
